The Years by Annie Ernaux, which is a translation from the original French version.   This 2008 non-fiction has been described as a ‘hybrid’ memoir, spanning the period of 1941 – 2006.  In the book, Ernaux writes about herself in the third person.  The story provides a vivid look at French society just after the Second World War until the early 2000s. This prize-winning book has also been adapted for the stage and Annie Ernauz was awarded the 2022 Novel Prize in Literature.
