for battersea and for you
As an active community organisation plugged into local networks, we keep our members well informed; our planning committee is a respected voice on planning matters; members learn a lot about local heritage; we help protect our open spaces and sponsor a varied programme of events.
Our informal pre-Christmas get-together and summer party are social highlights, along with coffee mornings and pub gatherings.
If you love where you live, do join us.
The Battersea Society Summer Party, 2022
Subscription Price Change 1 January 2025
In January the Society raised subscription prices for the first time in some 10 years.
Most of our income derives from subscriptions and the Gift Aid we receive on them and we have limited scope to increase our income from other sources. We have already taken measures to reduce our expenditure but the Society, like everyone else, continues to face increasing costs, for postage, printing, the website, software and IT services, and so on.
We are offering a discounted individual rate of £18 for any member wishing to receive Battersea Matters in digital, rather than printed, form.
We are asking all who can claim Gift Aid to send us a new Gift Aid Declaration form, available here, to ensure our records are up-to-date.

Get Involved
So you’d like to be more actively involved?
The first step is of course to join the Society! Once you’re a member we hope you will feel part of our community as well as the wider community of Battersea. We hope to see you at our talks and other events such as walks, film shows, and social events. The trustees especially enjoy the chance to meet new members at these events – if you’d like to talk to us, please find us, or email me before the event and I will look out for you.
Our committees welcome new members and you are encouraged to contact the chair of any committee that particularly interests you. Please follow us on social media and help us reach a larger audience. If you could help with delivering Battersea Matters four times a year, please contact me.
