Yvonne Carr 1945-2003 was Housing Manager for the Patmore Cooperative Estate and campaigned for a community centre. The centre was named after her as she had sadly died suddenly before its official opening by Gordon Brown Chancellor of the Exchequer in 2003. The centre is now a Children’s Centre and Family Hub.
