Educating Wandsworth – The Birth of Inclusion? Talk

  • St Mary's Church Battersea Church Road London, England, SW11 3NA United Kingdom (map)

Two pioneering educational institutions outside the mainstream had Battersea roots. Jeanne Rathbone tells the story of Linden Lodge School for the Blind, which educated the internationally acclaimed jazz musician Sir George Shearing, while Sue Demont explains how Battersea resident Albert Mansbridge came to found the Workers’ Educational Association. Both these institutions survive in different guises today. The talk starts at 7pm

This is a free event and the society’s contribution to the Wandsworth Heritage Festival.
