2. Entrants can submit up to three photos in total as JPEGs uploaded to the competition website. Entries can only be submitted online via the Battersea Society website.

3. Whilst editing and enhancement is allowed the judges reserve the right to exclude any image they believe may have been excessively treated so as to alter its authenticity.

5. Entrants must complete all sections of the online entry form. Any entrants under the age of 18 will need their parents or guardians to fill out the sections asking for their parent’s name, phone number and email address, and to tick the box consenting to their child’s participation.

6. The competition closes at 23:59 on Tuesday 31 August 2023. Entries received after this date will not be considered.

7. The photographs will be judged by the Battersea Past Present & Future Photographic Award judging panel — comprising three judges — during September 2023 after the closing date. Judges will select 30 finalists, ten from each category, that will comprise the Battersea Past Present & Future Photographic Award exhibition at the Royal College of Art in Battersea taking place in October 2023. The Judges will also select a winner for each of the three categories— Past, Present, Future — and from those three an overall winner.

9.  The winner of each category will receive a cash prize of £200 — with the overall winner receiving a further £200.

The three winning works will be framed and the cost for this met by the Battersea Society. The prizes are as stated and cannot be deferred or transferred.

10. The finalists’ work will appear in an exhibition to be held at the Royal College of Art in Battersea in October 2023. In addition, twelve photographs may be selected for a Battersea Past, Present & Future Calendar along with a set of Battersea Past, Present & Future postcards and Christmas cards which will be sold in aid of The Battersea Society charity. The finalists’ work may also be used in promotion of the competition.

11. All entries must be the original work of the entrant and must not infringe the rights of any other party. The entrants must be the sole owner of copyright in all photographs entered and must have obtained permission of any people featured in the entries or their parents/ guardians if children under 16 are featured.

12. Entrants will retain copyright in the photographs that they submit to the Battersea Past, Present & Future Photographic Award.
