Talk on The Georgians by author Penelope J Corfield

  • St Mary's Church Battersea Church Road London, England, SW11 3NA United Kingdom (map)

The talk looks at all aspects of Georgian life.  The Georgian era is often seen as a time of innovations.  It saw the end of monarchical absolutism, global exploration and settlements overseas, the world’s first industrial revolution and deep transformations in religious and cultural life.  How were these changes perceived by people at the time? And how do their viewpoints compare with attitudes today?

£5 payable in advance online or on the door - the talk starts at 7pm
