Jenny Thomas from the Battersea Society Events Committee will be hosting the Book Club meeting - and the book up for discussion is … Home Fire by Kamila Shamsie which takes a look at political and religious extremism and anti-terrorism on the world stage, and deals with it confidently, convincingly and with great humanity, by exploring the issue through the points of view of five characters who play opposing roles.  A contemporary reimagining of Sophocles’ Antigone, Home Fire is an urgent, fiercely compelling story of loyalties torn apart when love and politics collide – and was voted Winner of the 2018 Women’s Prize for Fiction.
