The Battersea Society objects to this application which is an over-development of the site and one which leads to a regrettable loss of historic buildings.

Trying to fit nine dwellings on this constricted site has led to a proposal which is unneighbourly in its bulk and which offers restricted open space for its inhabitants. We agree with the views of the planning consultant provided on behalf of her clients that ‘the developer simply wants to squeeze too many properties onto the site’.

Rather than trying to pare back the existing scheme, as described in the Design and Access Statement, the architects should take a fresh look and produce proposals which properly address the constraints of the site and the privacy and overlooking issues identified by neighbours.  This might also lead to a more attractive environment for future occupants.

This over-development is contrary to policy and should be refused.
